TIAA Cyber Security Architect in Virtual, District Of Columbia

This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.

This role will sit onsite, likely in a hybrid capacity, at the location(s) listed in this posting.

The anticipated term of this engagement will be 10 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.

CW-Info Systems Architect IV

The Information Systems Architect develops multiple types/categories of software architecture and operating systems for running end user applications. Working under minimal supervision, this job develops complex architectural guidelines, specifications and technical standards related to current and future end user requests. This job is considered a subject matter expert in the Information Systems Architecture field.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Executes complex architecture requirements analysis to convert end user needs into technical solutions.

  • Synchronizes systems design and technology constraints in accordance with compliance requirements.

  • Develops key capabilities and performance requirements when developing system architectures.

  • Creates technical specifications and standards for layered and multidimensional models.

  • Designs and implements solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise.

  • Communicates the design of the technical architecture clearly too all stakeholders.

  • Implements complex data modeling and advanced project development of system architecture.

Lead Info Security Architect

TIAA has an opportunity for a Lead Info Security Architect. This role will collaborate with various stakeholders on the strategic vision for the enterprise leveraging security, managed solutions, and traditional capabilities; provide security designs for innovative solutions and technologies. Furthermore, they will be a lead for secure design, planning, and implementation for the company's Cyber Security organization.

We are seeking a subject matter expert in Cyber Security who will be developing, designing, and implementing solutions. This position will collaborate with other resources across multiple disciplines and solutions to ensure that our Cloud Security solutions are secure, interoperate, and enable the business to do what they do best.

*We work in a Hybrid-Flex environment (i.e., three days in the office each week). *

This position will implement operational plans for the processes and standards of developing the organization's security architecture through the creation of a new Security designs and strategy. Additionally, this position will provide consultative support to multiple teams within the organization and provide high-level technical expertise and insight. They are expected to maintain consistent knowledge of emerging trends and security best practices in the related technology space.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the strategic vision for the enterprise, leveraging security, managed solutions, and traditional capabilities; .

  • Provide security designs for innovative solutions and technologies in alignment with our enterprise architecture best-practices.

  • Define policies and standards in alignment with enterprise security and architecture requirements.

  • Create and maintain roadmaps within the technology and architecture strategy.

  • Designs and implement new, innovative secure solutions within the organization.

  • Ensure design and architecture information is well- documented, up-to-date, and communicated to the relevant stakeholders.

  • Assist in or lead the definition of systems solutions to fulfll the functional management of cloud platforms, conforming to established system architecture standards and practices.

  • Provide threat analysis consultation across the organization, both within the operating business unit and to Information Technology management and staff.

  • Maintain highly technical knowledge of security trends and emerging technologies to best inform secure design, architecture, and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Information Technology or Cyber Security Engineering/Operations or a related area

  • At least 3+ years technology-related experience with specific focus on Security

  • At least 2+ years’ experience implementing or supporting cloud-based solutions.

  • At least 3+ years’ experience with cloud architectures (e.g., SaaS, PaaS), common commercial cloud systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and cloud security solutions (e.g., Cloud Access Security Broker, Multi-factor Authentication, Zero Trust Architecture)

  • At least 2+ years’ experience with Architecture

  • At least 2+ years’ experience managing multiple projects.

  • Knowledge of common cyber security technical controls and their application to cloud systems, such as access control, audit and accountability, configuration management, identification and authentication, system and communication protection, and system and information integrity.

  • Understanding of cyber security standards and methodologies including NIST. 

  • Knowledge of current cyber security threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Understanding basic information technology concepts, systems, and network architecture

Preferred:

  • Possess professional certification (i.e., CCSP – Certified Cloud Security Professional, CISSP, CISM) or comparable certifications.

  • Familiarity with program coding.

  • Worked in agile environment.

  • Experience utilizing development pipelines and automation (Devops/DevSecops)

  • Comfortable with delivering documents in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Base Pay Range: $53.70/hr. - $82.98/hr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
