Data Governance / Ataccama Engineer

Remote (Canada)

Overall Responsibility:

The Data Governance and Protection Engineer is tasked with enhancing the integration between our Data Protection Tool, Ataccama, and our Data Governance Tool, Collibra. This role is pivotal in driving Metadata discovery, executing data scanning at scale, providing thought leadership, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will engage in code building (e.g., Collibra-write APIs from Ataccama workflows) and provide valuable technical insights.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide technical and thought leadership in a collaborative, cross-functional Data Governance environment, with an emphasis on Ataccama API workflows to Collibra, to source Metadata at scale to Collibra.

  • Consult on integrating Ataccama and Collibra in near real time, delivering consultation to technical teams.

  • Deliver specific, actionable feedback to Product Owners, Architecture, Development, Test, and Application Support teams to ensure solutions are well-integrated, and address Data Protection and Automation needs.

  • Direct and consult on resolving complex technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions.

  • Standardize and evolve Data Protection and Governance processes for seamless automated operations.

Consults With:

  • DM Protection and Governance Individual Contributors

  • Team Coaches, Product Owners, Architects, and Ataccama

  • All levels of IDS and partner team Cybersecurity Management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, or related fields. Master's preferred.

  • Total experience in Data Management (DM) Analysis, Design, and Development: 10 years.

  • Experience interfacing with business and using Ataccama tool: 7 years.

  • Expert level SQL skills: 10 years.

  • Expert level Java/Eclipse skills: 5 years.

  • Expert level Microservices and API skills: 5 years.

  • Functional Specifications experience: 7 years.

  • Systems Analysis experience: 5 years.

  • Experience with Snowflake or other major RDBMs: 5 years.

  • Ataccama Workflows from IDE experience: 5 years.

  • Preferred: Collibra API integrations experience.

Salary Range:

The base salary range for this position CAD 80,646 – CAD 120,969 for Canada plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays.
