Job Description:

Structural Engineer

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to perform complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a Infrastructure construction project.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Under general supervision, participates in the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of field engineering assignments

  • Development of plans, review of drawings structural calculations, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods and systems

  • Reviewing the performance of subcontractors to assure contract compliance, the application of accepted construction technology and standards, and the acceptable standardization of materials and supplies.

  • May provide technical guidance to less-experienced field engineering personnel. Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected.

  • Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff. Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.

  • Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees. Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum 12 years of related structural design work experience mainly in substations, pumping stations, utility buildings, reservoirs, culvert, etc. Knowledge of local Authority standards and regulations is essential.

  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages associated with structural modelling, analysis and design typically Midas Civil, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SP column, Bentley RAM connections/elements, Prokon, Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate may be required

  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD/BIM and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
