The candidate will be a member of the RMS VLS Field Sustainment Team and will participate in installation, test, repair and support of a wide range of electronic equipment and systems. Although most work will be associated with VLS Systems, the opportunity to support other equipment/systems also exist. The candidate will be responsible for providing installation support of equipment including performing equipment modifications and upgrades; performing equipment/systems repairs; performing the assembly, integration and test of equipment/systems; and performing daily coordination and communication with the Virginia Beach FRF manager and designated team leads as well as other program and customer representatives (both internal and external to Lockheed Martin). Candidate must be willing and able to travel on an as-required basis to provide support onboard ships, or other land based facilities as necessary in support of U.S., Foreign Military and Direct Commercial Sales activities.

Basic Qualifications:

- Must posses a current certification to the level of VLS System Maintenance Technician (SMT) in accordance with NAVSEA Standing Instruction 86-2D.

- Experience with ORDALT installation procedures, Engineering Change Proposal installation procedures and hatch adjustment procedures.

- Prior VLS maintenance and operation experience.

- An active U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance is also a must.

Desired Skills:

- VLS INCO Experience

- AS or BS in electrical or mechanical engineering desired but not required. Experience in the installation and checkout of weapon systems onboard surface combatants during ship new construction or overhaul is also desired.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
