Description We are in search of a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our team in the hotel industry based in VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia. The Sr. Accountant will be primarily responsible for daily income journal tracking, vendor aging review, and month-end closing process. The role also includes preparing standard journal entries and financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and verify daily income journal activities, including checking the balance of the Guest Ledger, Advance Deposit, and A/R balance.

• Prepare a daily cash summary report to include specific cash requirements and maintain constant communication with the General Manager regarding any day-to-day issues.

• Conduct vendor aging review weekly, ensuring regular interaction with the accounts payable department and monitoring cash flow.

• Complete Month-End Closing in accordance with Month-End Process.

• Prepare Standard Journal Entries including number journal entry, description of entry, and back-up.

• Generate financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and budget-actual reports.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for creating various reports including Cash Flow Model and Support for Balance Sheet.

• Perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and maintain general ledger.

• Responsible for journal entries and month-end close activities.

• Handle any other accounting-related tasks as needed.

Skills required include Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior accountant role, preferably within the hotel industry.

• Proven ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Demonstrated expertise in managing general ledger and making journal entries.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing financial data.

• Experience in performing month-end close procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Knowledge of accounting software and systems.

• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.

• detail oriented certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus but not mandatory.
