Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for filling prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, and meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy. This role also involves labeling products appropriately, participating in periodic inventory, and preparing various types of medications, including non-sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescription items as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy.

• Package medications for dispensing and delivery, ensuring accuracy and productivity standards are met.

• Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.

• Participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy.

• Check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.

• Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.

Essential Skills

• Active/Valid New Jersey Pharmacy Technician License

• Proficiency in data entry, pre-pack, filling prescriptions, and fulfillment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a pharmacy setting and familiarity with medical terminology.

• Ability to operate a computer and recognize and identify different medications.

• Team player, detail-oriented, and goal-oriented.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This role offers an opportunity for internal growth and exposure to working within a long-term care facility. You will gain experience with one of the largest pharmacies in the US, supporting over 3,100 long-term care, senior living, IDD/behavioral health, home infusion, specialty pharmacy, and hospital management programs.
