Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in Vilseck, Germany

Summary About the Position: Serves as Logistics Assistance Program Lead System Technical Representative for the TACOM Logistics Assistance Division with delegated authority to make decisions within the execution of Army's Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) regulatory and statutory guidance. NH-03 pay band encompasses the GS-12/13 grade levels. Please limit your resume to 5 pages. Responsibilities Supervises System Technical Representatives (STRs) and Logistics Assistance Representatives (LARs) on equipment maintenance, and materiel readiness. Manages, supervises, and coordinates all Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) logistical activities for a wide customer base across a large Area of Responsibility. Provides technical direction and leadership in performing supervisory duties including assigning work to subordinates based on priorities difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Determines the need and develops plans for LAP organizational changes which have considerable impact such as those involving basic structure, operating costs, and key positions. Makes necessary adjustments in priorities, procedures, or objectives, or the need for special support or assistance to Army customers within their Area of Responsibility. Determine LAP program goals and develops plans for the organization independently of or jointly with other Logistics Assistance Directorate (LAD) managers. Reviews reports of technical logistics problems from locally assigned LARs, carefully examining them for similarities, trends, and inconsistencies. Develop courses of action to resolve equipment readiness problems, coordinates plan for resolution with cognizant and concerned organizations. Investigate technically complex logistics issues and problems which assigned LARs have been unable to resolve throughout a Major Army Units Area of Responsibility. Provide general and specific advice to commanders of Major Army Units on TACOM LCMC equipment-related logistics issues. Directs and communicates with subordinate System Technical Representatives (STRs) and LARs to insure uniformity of reporting and implementation of LAP directives and policies. Consolidate logistics issues findings of multi-directorate teams to provide feedback to the Logistics Assistance Division (LAD). Specialized Experience: To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Monitoring/analyzing equipment fleet trend analysis studies; 2) Interpreting technical policy, procedures and regulations to ensure adherence to program schedules and Unit priorities; 3) Briefing senior leaders on various repair programs and proposing technical courses of actions to resolve fleet readiness issues; AND 4) Applying courses of action to allocate personnel and resources to provide operational support for organizations/agencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11). Additional Information Single parents or families, where both parents are EE, are required to prepare and present their supervisor an approved family care plan. Direct deposit of pay is required. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12. If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12. Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250. For positions in a foreign country, that country's laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employee's same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits.
