Health First Fitness Services Supervisor - ProHealth in Viera, Florida
POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in Health First’s commitment to delivering quality care and customer experience by servicing members’ needs through orientation, education, instruction, and evaluation in the area of health and fitness. Manage respective programs and services offered to customers to enhance their overall health and fitness, ensuring a positive experience each and every time.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage the physical operation of Pro-Health’s swim program, including but not limited to pool repairs and appropriate supplies while consistently maintaining a safe pool environment.
- Manage fitness programs offered, including but not limited to, individual swim lessons, group exercise classes (land and/or water), Pilates reformer, and other exercise classes.
- Create fitness service schedules for members and staff for designated programs. Perform oversight and routinely monitor attendance for land and aquatic programs
- Keep the Pro-Health staff informed of fitness services programs and work cooperatively to develop and implement these programs in the functional area of responsibility.
- Oversee projects involving the aerobic and spin rooms, including the operation, maintenance, and proper use of these facilities.
- Provide leadership, through established performance goals and standards, regular assessment of staff performance including mid-year and annual performance evaluations.
- Establish fitness program auditions, interview, and select qualified group fitness, Pilates, and swim instructors as needed. On-board and orient respective staff about Pro-Health policies and procedures to ensure a safe fitness environment, and Health First policies and procedures to ensure consistent compliance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or Health Science Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or similar.
- Work Experience: One (1) year management experience overseeing staff and programs in the areas of wellness, group exercise, and general exercise programs.
- Licensure: None Required
- Certification: Current American Heart Association’s Heartsaver CPR & AED Program Card
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint o Communication – verbal, auditory and written
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: None Required
- Work Experience: Two (2) years management experience overseeing staff and programs in the areas of wellness, group exercise, and general exercise programs.
- Licensure: None Required
- Certification: None Required
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o Knowledge and use of fitness database and software
