Job Summary :
The Trainer will have responsibility for training associates, both new and experienced on various positions throughout the facility. They will perform standard work audits, identify training needs, help to create and update standard work for various roles, and can perform as a substitute for most positions throughout the facility, including Team Leader positions.
Responsibilities:
In this role, the Trainer will have the responsibility to:
Develop and Implement Strategic Training and Development plans for plant wide hourly-tech roles
Develop curriculum and project-based learning tasks for New Hire Onboarding, and ongoing training and development of technical/manufacturing related roles
Design Web-Based Training Modules using Learning Module System (LMS), Video and Graphic Design
Administer Leadership Development Training for all levels of the organization, and Train within Industry (TWI) standard for manufacturing floor, warehouse and/or hourly-tech level roles
Train associates, both new and experienced, on various positions throughout the facility
Identify educational needs or gaps in the workplace to better focus training efforts
Communicate issues to and from production teams
Perform Standard Work Audits to ensure that procedures are understood and followed
Create and update standard work as necessary
Maintain and update training records
Assist with the onboarding process for newly hired associates
Make suggestions for improvement using the Lean Principles
Share best practices across production lines
Perform as a substitute in most positions throughout the warehouse, including Team Leader positions as necessary
Promote a culture aligned with our values and leadership principles
Additional Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
5 + years of Teaching/Training experience required
Experience in Visual Arts/Graphic design preferred.
Demonstrated leadership ability with well-developed oral & written communication skills.
Proficient in curriculum development, lesson planning, project-based/hands on learning,differentiated instruction, and rubric scoring systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; with transferrable Microsoft Excel Skills.
Ability to coach hourly associates or subordinates.
Demonstrated ability to supervise multiple projects with team or plant wide impact.
Familiar or have worked in a Lean Thinking/Principles preferred.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will need to have:
· Extensive knowledge and skills in most positions throughout the facility
· The ability to utilize a wide variety of online tools such as Microsoft programs, Oracle, etc.
· The ability to teach others in a clear and concise manner
· The ability to work independently, take initiative, and motivate others
· The ability to utilize the Lean Principles
· The ability to create and update standard work
· Flexibility in shift times to meet training needs at the facility
Physical Requirements :
· Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shift
· Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally. Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two-person lift, or a lift assist
· Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per day
· Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shift
· Stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per day
· Climb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day
· Use of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions
· Basic visual requirements for precision work
· Moderate physical exertion
