The Senior Distribution Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the Victorville NSN Distribution Center including Inbound, Outbound, Warehousing and VAS. In addition, this position is responsible for achieving company objectives, productivity standards and cost savings/continuous improvement PEAK targets. This position reports to the Director, Newell Service Network

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee all distribution services including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping for NSN Retail Customers, other NSN facilities, as well as, Direct to Consumer. In addition, responsible for value- add function for minor conversions related to sourced products.

Duties of this position include, but not limited to:

  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics.

  • Provide a safe and clean working environment for all employees.

  • Maintain high customer service levels, while achieving expense targets

  • Develop and direct all support staff to meet the customer’s requirements.

  • Develop and direct team to ensure the operation is efficient, cost effective and utilized properly.

  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate department manager’s performance.

  • Identify cost savings initiatives and work with team to implement.

  • Communicate with cross functional departments internal Victorville, as well as, across Newell.

  • Develop annual operating budget & monthly forecast.

  • Establish/Monitor Key Performance Indicators/Metrics for Operation.

  • Establish and implement distribution strategies.

  • Drives continuous improvement and PEAK.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Engineering or related field from four-year college or university and minimum of seven years related experience.

  • Experience in a DC/Fulfillment Operation.

  • Experience in a pick-to-pack fulfillment operation.

  • Strong computer skills, specifically, in Microsoft office programs.

  • Capable of developing, forecasting, and maintaining an annual budget.

  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with internal and external customers.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to lead and manage a flexible workforce with perm and temporary employees.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of WMS, SAP.

The CA base pay range for this position is 154,600 to 188,950. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
