Project Overview:
Bechtel Renewables team is to deliver the project management, engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and testing services for a utility-scale PV solar project, located near the town of Tivoli in Refugio County, Texas. When completed, the project will span more than 3400 acres and generate up to 495 MWdc of power from approximately 850,000 highly efficient bifacial solar modules. The project is awaiting Limited/Final Notice to Proceed. This position is contingent upon that final award.
Job Summary:
The Project Site Superintendent is responsible for the coordination, planning and execution of all construction work performed by Bechtel direct hire craft and subcontractors in accordance with design drawing and details as assigned by the Site Superintendent. The Project Site Superintendent will fill in for the Site Manager (SM) in their absence or as directed.
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership
Supports mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft and superintendents under their purview.
Manages multiple work fronts across a solar EPC project.
Interface with Industrial Relations for craft recruitment to support direct hire execution.
Liaise with Core Renewables Team to provide project updates related to scheduling and coordination of work.
Safety & Quality
Provide constructability reviews providing risk analysis, suggestions, and input to ensure successful delivery and execution.
Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
Planning & Productivity
Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
Coordinates and directs multi-discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project as instructed by construction management.
Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
Tools, Materials & Equipment
- Oversees the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
Technical
- Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum 2 years prior Field Non-Manual Supervision on medium to large sized EPC projects.
Minimum 5 years (preferably Solar) EPC experience.
Must have the ability to obtain the right to work and remain the in the Unites States.
Utility scale solar or wind experience >100MW. (Preferred)
Prior large-scale EPC experience (Preferred)
Prior Direct Hire / craft supervision experience. (Preferred)
High geographical mobility and cross discipline experience. (Preferred)
