Hub International Vice President of Operations - Vancouver Island Region in Victoria, British Columbia

Position Summary

Reporting to the SVP of Operations and working closely with business partners in Sales and Human Resources, the Vice President of Operations is responsible for ensuring HUB’s financial, talent management, client experience and operational objectives are met. This role is pivotal in driving strategic alignment, growth and operational excellence throughout the Vancouver Island region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, profit and loss (P&L) objectives, and expense management.

  • Talent Development : Hire, mentor, and develop future leaders to ensure succession planning and long-term growth. Promote employee engagement and retention through leadership in staffing, coaching, training, and performance management.

  • Operational Excellence : Ensure effective branch operations by monitoring and analyzing (KPIs) and implementing corrective actions.

  • Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement comprehensive business plans to support talent development, optimize workforce planning, and drive operational excellence.

  • Best Practices Implementation : Drive excellence in recruitment, employee development, product knowledge, compensation, and performance management across the region.

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to industry regulations and best practices. Mitigate operational risks.

  • Communication & Reporting: Lead effective communication across the region to support the adoption of best practices, foster collaboration, and information sharing. Provide timely updates to senior leadership on performance and initiatives while disseminating key information regionally to maintain alignment.

Qualifications

  • Industry Expertise : A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in the insurance industry.

  • Licensing : A Level 2 insurance license is required.

  • Leadership Excellence : Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams and foster high performance and cohesion, driving the achievement of operational and financial targets

  • Talent Development : Proven track record in developing emerging leaders and fostering a positive, growth-oriented culture.

  • Skills : Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Education : A post-secondary degree is preferred; advanced education or certifications (e.g., MBA, CIP, or FCIP) are considered strong assets.

Salary Expectations –

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $150,000.00, with the ability to earn a bonus based on performance. The base salary will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
