Job Description
AECOM ’s Water group in Victoria, BC is seeking a motivated Municipal and Pipe Conveyance CAD Technician – Civil 3D to support numerous Civil Infrastructure projects. This permanent full time position will primarily consist of field assignments in/outside the Victoria area supplemented by office work when construction slows.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide technologist services to projects either individually or as part of a larger project team.
All AECOM employees are required to carry out their duties in a safe and responsible manner.
Field assignments
Field work commonly involves travel, shift work, and long hours
Topographic and construction surveying
Construction supervision and inspections
Measuring and tracking quantities
Calculations to ensure the accuracy of our designs and identify the need for adjustments
Daily construction reports
Ensuring the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner
Working with and maintaining a positive relationship with clients and contractors
Office assignments:
Drafting and design support for various civil and water infrastructure projects
Data input and analysis using spreadsheets and modeling software
Calculating grades, volumes, distances, etc.
Compiling reports
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
Technical Diploma.
2 years of relevant experience in municipal design.
2 years of AutoCAD Civil 3D and an understanding of CAD standards.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills:
Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services.
Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings.
Civil, Water, or Environmental Technology program diploma.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Accuracy with details is essential.
Experience collecting survey data and performing construction layout surveys using GPS, Total Station, and/or conventional survey equipment is preferred.
Experience working around mobile heavy equipment is considered an asset.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00.
