About this role What will you be responsible for?

We lead, supervise and mentor geotechnical personnel to carry out departmental functions safely, efficiently and according to the business plan.

Interaction and engagement with mine Operations and Projects teams to ensure the implementation of Geotechnical designs and ground control initiatives Geotechnical operational & design tasks including field inspections, data collection, monitoring, reviewing, and rockmass classification mapping and ensure geotechnical recommendations are implemented We analyze and interpret laboratory geotechnical test results Lead geotechnical hazard model and data collection program based on site conditions We actively identify and handle geotechnical risks and the development of systems to supervise and run these We implement and keep the ground control management plan updated We assist with the development and implementation of standards for geotechnical data collection, analysis, interpretation, and ground control management. We identify longer-term issues, trends, and improvements associated with Geotechnical work and how it is carried out We analyze blasting wall damage/deviations **The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Your Training, Skills & Experience checklist Here is what we would need to see from you!

Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in geology, geotechnical engineering, or equivalent experience or mine required.

Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience required, preferably in a production environment.

Previous experience at different sites is helpful.

Skills and Abilities: Strong presentation and facilitation skills. History of strong performance in an open-pit mine working with diverse teams. Ability to analyze data and make recommendations. Ability to provide technical knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills. Working Conditions & Location Where you will be located!

The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level. Workers in this position can be exposed to various conditions and work locations throughout this range of elevations and must be physically capable of working at this altitude.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $71,600- 107,700. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
