Job Title: QA Inspector
Job Description
The QA Inspector will spend the majority of the day on the floor, working closely with Production Operators, Supervisors, and Leads to ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This role involves a significant amount of work with investigations and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). The QA Process Quality Inspector provides quality assurance support and leadership to the Production Department, maintaining a strong floor presence to uphold the quality of manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with CPI practices, policies, and procedures.
Perform routine reviews of in-process production documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Conduct routine inspections and audits on personnel, procedures, equipment, and products.
Provide leadership on quality issues to Production personnel.
Initiate deviations and document initial investigations.
Contribute to quality investigations and serve as lead investigator when assigned.
Initiate, maintain, and disposition non-conformances.
Assist in training Production personnel in company practices, policies, and procedures.
Assist in the movement of controlled substances into and out of controlled storage and processing areas.
Perform sampling activities as assigned.
Review unit logbooks and/or environmental monitoring data as assigned.
Essential Skills
Experience with cGMP, quality assurance, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
1-3+ years of quality-related experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, or dietary supplement environment.
Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
Ability to work with a variety of people across different departments.
Experience with batch records and QA checks prior to release is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma required.
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences is preferred, with at least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Clean room experience and auditing/inspection experience are beneficial.
Ability to manage situations involving quality issues effectively.
Work Environment
The QA team consists of fewer than 10 members. While overtime is not currently expected, hours may overlap among the three Process Quality Inspectors. Employees can accrue up to 17 days of PTO within their first year, increasing to 22 days after the first 12 months. PTO accrues based on years of service and rolls over into the next year. The work environment supports high communication and collaboration, particularly with the Production team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $28.00/hr.
