OHLA USA Asphalt Distributor Operator / Tack Truck Driver in Vero Beach, Florida
Our company has an immediate opening for aTack Truck Driver - CDLinVero Beach, Fl. The Tack Truck Driver - CDL will be responsible for the operation of the Asphalt Paving Tack Truck and labor duties. These duties should be carried out in a safe and effective manner under the supervision and direction of the asphalt paving superintendent and foreman.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for the operation of the Asphalt Distributor - distributing accurate spread rate according to the job specifications.
- Follow proper safety guidelines.
- Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain an accurate and timely driver log.
- Maintain refill, quantity measurement, inventory and refueling duties.
- Maintenance of the equipment used daily.
- Work with our crews on a day-to-day basis to complete each project.
- Ability to be flexible and perform a wide variety of tasks associated with paving.
- Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Experience operating an asphalt tack truck.
Work Requirements:
- Minimum 21 years of age. (company policy)
- Must have a current valid Driver's License and maintain valid throughout employment.
- CDL:
- Class A or B
- Endorsements:
- X Endorsement (Tanker and HazMatEndorsements)
- CDL:
- Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as set forth by the US DOT.
- Must pass a drug, criminal background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years (FMCSA).
- Must pass a DOT physical.

- The ability to use hands in order to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

- Vision abilities (with correction) include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to exert up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects,10-25 lbs. of force frequently, and 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally.
