Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Accounting Manager to join our finance team in Los Angeles. This role is pivotal in overseeing the financial operations of our manufacturing facilities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the accounting team responsible for manufacturing operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and inventory control.

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Develop and maintain standard costing systems for all products, ensuring cost accuracy and profitability analysis.

  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, supply chain, and procurement to optimize inventory management and control.

  • Prepare and analyze manufacturing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to provide insights into business performance.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures.

  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

  • Support audits and reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles, including cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing.

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across departments.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.

  • Experience with process improvement initiatives and ERP system implementations is a plus
