We are currently seeking a Finance Manager, Shared Services to be based in our office in Vaughan, Ontario Canada headquarters.
Job Summary
In this newly created role, as the Finance Manager, Shared Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the banking, treasury, tax, insurance and audit functions for multiple operating companies. You will be the central point of contact when working with both Internal and External partners.
As the Finance Manager, Shared Services, you’re a strong team member who is detail oriented, has strong Excel and analytical skills, and is focused on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversight of the Canadian Cashpool for all ASSA ABLOY companies in Canada, including month end reporting and coordination with related companies on interest and cash reconciliation with our international Head Office
Maintain an efficient system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities and provide support for regulatory reporting
Develop a structure to work with business partners in a shared services capacity in areas including insurance, corporate credit cards, travel programs, payroll, and expense reporting
Responsible for the coordination of annual tax return of the Legal entity. Act as the liaison for both Internal Corporate Tax Team and External Tax accountants
Work with Corporate Tax Team on tax initiatives, forecasting and analysis; includes month end reporting and any other ad hoc requirements
Prepare, review and submit sales tax returns and related filings
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
Perform monthly full cycle accounting tasks such as journal entries, analysis of general ledger accounts etc.
Review monthly general ledger reconciliations and investigate differences
Familiar with IFRS and ability to implement – (International Financial Reporting Standard)
Assist with special projects, including ERP Improvements, etc.
Create and continuously improve financial policies, procedures, processes, systems, and initiatives
Produce various ad hoc analysis, reports, and other responsibilities as required
Education and Experience
University degree in business, or accounting
Working towards or completed CPA designation
Minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a corporate finance department
Knowledge and experience working with data analysis software (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects, etc.)
Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics - NAV) is an asset
