The Kearney Breast Center at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Variable position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $38.41-$58.63. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

Details about this position:

  • This per diem position offers scheduling flexibility, plus a competitive hourly rate of pay and differential in lieu of benefits.

  • Performs all routine and specialized mammographic procedures by integrating medical knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.

  • Prepare, supply and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.

  • Perform most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.

  • Provides patient education and instruction prior to and after examination. Provide training/education to staff and students as indicated.

  • Applies ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self, staff and patient. Evaluates patient for pregnancy prior to exam as indicated.

  • Competently operates mammography equipment while performing high quality breast imaging.

  • Adheres to and participates in maintaining MQSA and ACR standards including QC records maintenance.

  • Performs other patient care activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with Caregivers’ scope of practice, training, experience and license/certification/registration

What you bring:

  • Accredited School Required: Radiologic Technology

  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience preferred.

  • Required: PACS/RIS knowledge

  • Required: ARRT - Radiography

  • Required within 6 months: ARRT - Mammography

  • Required Upon Hire: Radiology Technologist - Washington

  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support
