This role will be responsible for the improvement and implementation of procedures throughout the plants and will be involved in testing, implementation and scoping of projects, and ones that require the use of independent judgment in determining a course of action. This position will assist with the setup of new production systems and may train machinists, operators and inspectors. The Engineering Technician must have strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of a variety of machining processes. Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. This level will effectively train others and may lead smaller projects. REQUIREMENTS AA or AS degree; and high school diploma 8+ yrs. of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, in a manufacturing/production environment. Ability to read, write and comprehend verbal as well as written instructions in English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure including common and decimal fractions. Ability to use a microscope, Ability to read blueprints/mechanical drawings, depending on the specific function. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.; 20/20 corrected vision may be required - varies by division Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or cleanroom apparel. Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods. Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop. Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands.
