Job Summary
Clark County is seeking a motivated individual to join our dedicated HR team. Human Resources provides crucial support services to all County departments and promotes a culture of thriving employees who deliver exceptional contributions to our community.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (partial experience substitution possible -- see below) in human resource management, industrial relations, organizational psychology, public administration or a closely related field,
OR:
An associate degree or equivalent college units and two years of responsible technical or clerical experience in human resource emphasizing benefits administration, public sector experience desired.
Other combinations of education, training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with public speaking/giving presentations
- At least 2 years of experience administering benefits
Knowledge of: basic principles of the administration of benefits; computerized record keeping/tracking systems; basic knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations; contemporary office practices and procedures; business letter writing and basic report preparation.
Ability to: provide technical support and assistance to a range of benefits programs and services; interpret, apply, and explain human resources policies, techniques, procedures, and programs; communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; make extensive and effective use of automated systems and technology; establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, hiring supervisors, and applicants.
SELECTION PROCESS

KEY OR TYPICAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
In coordination with the benefits team, administers the County's medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits.
Processes new enrollments and benefit changes in the County's HRIS software system (Workday).
