LMI Technologies Shipper/Receiver Team Lead in Vancouver, British Columbia

What will you do as an Shipper/Receiver Team Lead? Reporting to the Global Logistics & Materials Manager, the Shipper/Receiver Team Leader will oversee Shipping/Receiving and Packaging teams at HQ to ensure daily tasks are being completed accurately, effectively and efficiently. As well as achieving maximum production flow, and meeting our internal and external customers’ deadlines.

Typical duties, responsibilities and activities include:

  • Ensure all outbound shipments are processed per SOP, and meet customer and/or regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure all inbound raw materials and RMA are received per SOP and on time.

  • Ensure finished products are packaged on time and well organized in the warehouse.

  • Ensure packaging guidelines are followed and shipments are protected in transit.

  • Coordinate with transportation providers and ensure shipments are picked up on time.

  • Be able to work with internal and external teams to investigate and resolve issues for inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Investigate shipping/receiving/packaging mistakes. Conduct root cause analysis and prevent reoccurrence of issues.

  • Create, maintain and update SOP.

  • Evaluate and optimize dock and warehousing operations.

  • Provide training to existing and new team members.

  • In charge of Shipping/Receiving metrics reports.

  • Proactively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage performance evaluation and recruitment for the team.

  • Must be able to fill in as a backup for all key functional duties as needed.

  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed by team members at all times.

  • Adheres to LMI Employee Policy Manual.

    What do you need to be successful?

  • Post secondary Technical or Business diploma or degree. 

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in Shipping & Receiving.

  • Previous experience leading and mentoring team members is an asset.

  • International shipping knowledge is preferred.

  • Detailed oriented.

  • Able to make objective and data driven business decisions. Effective escalation when needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to learn new concepts quickly.

  • Intermediate level with MS Word and Excel.

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.

  • Able to handle heavy lifting (15-20 kg) of boxes.

    Skills of Value:

  • Experience in packaging.

  • Knowledge and experience of using carrier shipping software.

  • Experience working in the electronics industry.

    BC/CALIFORNIA ROLES ONLY | Salary Range: $61,404 - $70,000- $79,800

    Expected Salary: Our typical hiring range will be +/- 10% of the midpoint listed above. Factors influencing this decision include qualifications and market conditions for the role.
