Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor – Concrete. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this position will be responsible for managing project-specific requirements. This position is in Vancouver, BC.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Prepare and review ready mix concrete submittal packages to ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering drawings.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to quality control staff in performing testing, analyzing results, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

  • Identify and implement innovative solutions and optimization strategies to improve product design and manufacturing processes.

  • Support the sales, operations, dispatch, and customer service teams by reviewing project requirements, proposing suitable products, addressing quality-related inquiries, and offering technical expertise.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders and provide technical support and troubleshooting for QC issues, supporting plant and batch panel operators, ensuring alignment on quality and technical expectations.

What Are We Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with Master’s degree considered an asset.

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC), and in good standing.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control within the ready-mix concrete, construction materials, or related industries, with proven track record of supervising and developing technical staff.

  • Strong technical knowledge of mix designs, control procedures, and product applications, with a comprehensive understanding of applicable codes, standards, and test methods (CSA, ACI, ASTM, AASHTO).

  • Proven leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including the use of relevant software applications, and strong technical writing abilities.
