HVAC Service Technician

$53/hr + vacation pay and RRSP Contributions

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, overhaul, and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems and their components. You will read, interpret, and execute drawings, schematics, and blueprints, ensuring compliance with building codes and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints and building codes to determine work details and procedures.

  • Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning systems and components.

  • Assist with the design of multi-head VRF systems.

  • Create detailed material lists from drawings and site layouts.

  • Start and commission systems, test lines for leaks, and record readings.

  • Direct apprentices on the installation of piping systems.

  • Keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports.

  • Diagnose and fix malfunctions by replacing or repairing controls, electric wiring, or other parts.

  • Comply with industry standards, safety manuals, and safety rules.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of HVAC experience within commercial, institutional, or high-rise settings.

  • Journeyperson Red Seal Ticket.

  • Service HVAC experience.

  • Ability to get to site.

  • Clean driving record.

  • Good communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Gasfitter B ticket.

  • More years of experience.

  • Good leadership skills.

  • Eager to learn.

Work Environment

  • You will be working in existing commercial buildings and infrastructure, often around business tenants, so a presentable appearance is required.

  • The shift typically starts at 7 or 7:30 AM with an 8-hour workday.

  • Occasionally, work outside of business hours (after 4 PM or 5 PM) may be required for tasks that generate significant noise.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $110240.00
