About the Opportunity
As a Software Engineering – Machine Learning Co-op at Aquatic Informatics, you will become an integral member of the predictive analytics engineering team. Working in an Agile team, you will be exposed to the breadth of software engineering and data science activities with a specific focus on operationalizing algorithms being developed by the team.
Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution in either computer science or engineering; strongly prefer an institution in Vancouver as role is hybrid and may need to be onsite periodically during the period.
You are passionate and keen to learn about data science and full-stack engineering
Love to code – production code, test code, automation code, dev tooling code
Thrive on using data to solve challenging technical problems
Resourceful and independent, while being a contributing member of a collaborative team
Constantly seek new ways to do things better
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
Programming experience with at least one object-oriented language (bonus for C#) orscientific language (bonus for Python).
Knowledge of JavaScript plus one front end framework is desirable (e.g. Angular, AngularJS or React)
Demonstrated interest in keeping up to date with current technology and engineering best practices
Currently studying computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline
Completion of one or more previous co-op terms is an asset
Bonus:
