Athletics Groundskeeper and Building Maintenance Full-time, 12 months, Benefited 00009701 Internal/External
Position Description: The purpose of the position is to provide building and grounds maintenance for the athletic facility and surrounding grounds, and to assist with game day preparation and setup for all home athletic games and other events at the athletic facility. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and as such may have varying hours. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours, including weekends.
Responsibilities of the position include, but is not limited to: Performing maintenance to the Athletic facility; submits work orders for additional maintenance of the facilities and equipment used by athletics. Lighting, painting, plumbing, minor equipment repairs, scoreboard/clock maintenance, sound equipment maintenance. Maintaining of the athletic fields, turf, and grounds mowing, trimming, painting etc. Maintaining related athletic facilities, such as fencing, dugouts, painting, trash, etc. Executing game day setup for all sports and other events in the athletic facilities. Ensuring safety standards of the athletic facilities and fields.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, ability to lift and move 50 pounds, physical ability to perform routine maintenance duties, knowledge of materials and equipment, and methods used in maintain and upkeep of buildings. Ability to follow communicated instruction and work independently after instructions, must possess computer usage skills, excellent interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work athletic events in the evening or on the weekends.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior maintenance and set up of fields in a school or university setting, minimum of one-year related work experience. Experience with maintaining turf fields and other athletic facilities.
Compensation: $38,000 - $41,000 annually and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
