Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Supervisor to join our team at John Soules Foods. The HR Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Human Resources department on 2^nd^shift, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements, and providing support and guidance to both management and employees. This role involves managing HR processes, improving employee engagement, onboarding, benefits administration, training, conflict resolution, and other operational tasks as needed as well as fostering a positive workplace culture.

HR Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee relations, address workplace issues, and provide conflict resolution.
  • Implement disciplinary actions when necessary following company procedures and policies
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding and employee activities.
  • Oversees attendance process.
  • Assisting managers with execution of HR programs.
  • Recommend, Develop and implement HR procedures, activities and programs to enhance employee satisfaction, boost employee morale, engagement and retention.
  • Identifying and addressing employee requirements regarding performance issues, training, and career growth.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Performing various administrative tasks and accurately processing paperwork.
  • Counseling staff on HR policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Supervises the day-to-day administration of personnel policies and practices at assigned location.
  • Assist in benefits administration.
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving organizational effectiveness and employee performance.
  • Oversees and assigns employee training and orientation programs.
  • Assists with the termination process and may conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind terminations.
  • May represent company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.

HR Supervisor Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong moral and ethical code.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, learning management systems, presentation tools and HRIS.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR practices, administration, and state and federal HR laws
  • Expertise in conflict management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to take initiative and maintain confidentiality.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns and issues during second shift.

Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts and issues.

Monthly round tables

Employee termination process (including conducting exit interviews with hourly employees)

All termination recordkeeping

The employee attendance program recordkeeping

The administration of short-term and long-term disability and FMLA process

Internal employee job posting and internal employee communication system

Entire onboarding process for all new hires

Conduct ongoing employee and supervisor training

Conduct regular meetings with second shift staff to communicate company updates, policies, and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Manager

Education and Experience:

A High School Diploma is required, and a bachelors degree is preferred.

Candidates should also have a minimum of 3 years of prior human resources experience, preferably in a supervisory role and in a manufacturing or similar environment. including managerial experience and Microsoft Skills.

Working and Environmental Conditions:

This is an office position that requires time on the production floor in a food manufacturing plant. Exposed to moving machinery, such as forklifts and production equipment. May be exposed to temperature extremes. May be exposed to loud noise from moving forklifts and production equipment.

Requires wearing all required PPE while on production floor.

Requires flexibility with schedule, including break times and working extended hours when needed.

This position is a 2^nd^shift position.
