- Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules
- Make appropriate adjustments to machines to affect efficient production levels and document appropriately; respond to QA Techs and understands JDE priorities.
- Start up and troubleshooting of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands in JDE.
- Process and set up all new molds.
- Maintain cycle times and minimize down time.
- Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems.
- Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions
- Maintain foil supply on hot stamp equipment.
- Maintain steady uninterrupted supply of colorant and material to the machines.
- Make resin changes with the correct resin and to the correct machines.
- Inspect scrap and minimize scrap at each machine
- Clean all Molds on all IML machines safely and accurately
- Responsible for changing IML labels, foil, grips and wire on each machine
- Assure all paperwork is completely filled out on a daily basis; i.e. daily process records, machine cleaning, etc.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Responsible for ensuring safety, quality and housekeeping standards are maintained in the production department.
- Documenting any down time on injections sheets, which includes, color changes, etc.
- Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor and the team leaders the supplies needed for each production run, including returning inventory of unused supplies.
- Be knowledgeable of inventory procedures, following product guidelines
- Know and conduct quick start up and shut down emergency procedures.
- Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;
- Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and
- Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
