JOB SUMMARY

To effectively develop and lead a team supporting all new business/product material quotation activities. This may involve managing, analyzing, planning, negotiating, supporting, preparing reports and completing employee appraisals. This position may include situational analysis, strategy development and guidance in implementation for the functional disciplines of supply chain development, procurement and customer pricing. These strategies should support the individual customer’s needs and be complementary to Jabil’s overall Supply Chain Management goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead a team of Supply Chain professionals whose primary responsibilities includes material pricing for new business/projects

· Provide regular updates to Jabil Business Units and Supply Chain Management on quotation activities

· Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and non-redundant.

· Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately.

· Analyze the customer’s needs and develop an appropriate supply chain strategy that is in alignment with Jabil’s organizational goals.

· Develop and deploy an appropriate quoting process that allows Jabil every chance to win new business.

· Manages the materials quotation activities for new business/products. Assist in executing the RFQ as appropriate for the program.

· Through early design involvement and qualification of alternate suppliers on existing products, promote the use of Jabil’s Strategic Suppliers.

· Review quote with Commodity Management as necessary.

· Working in concert with Jabil’s Commodity Management Team, recommend customer BOM pricing at the component level that promotes Jabil’s competitiveness.

· Develop and oversee transition plans to the Jabil Workcell (or designee) of new business awards

· Represent Jabil’s materials team in a professional manner during customer meetings, audits, presentations and conference calls.

· Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

· Ability to effectively present information to Business Unit Management, Customer, and other members of the Jabil Materials community.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, etc.

· Serve as an escalation point for quoting issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manner within the Jabil Business Unit, Sales, Workcell, etc.

· May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

STRATEGY

· Develop an understanding of the Business strategy as it pertains to Quotes Management.

· Ensure the efficient and timely exchange of knowledge and information within the Jabil Corporation to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.

· Assist with the development, monitoring, and implementation of global material quotation strategies.

· Drive additional value by enhancing toolsets and processes . Assist with the definition, development, and implementation of material quotation models to meet Jabil’s business needs.

· Analyze current and potential supply sources while staying abreast with corporate supply chain initiatives and strategies in line with the market segmentation strategy.

· Provides support to Commodity Management by maintaining and developing knowledge of the supply base.

· Assist with the development of the supply base to exceed the goals and objectives of Jabil and the supply chain management team.

· Working in concert with Customer’s SCM & Design organizations to create alignment in Supplier Selection strategies

· Support the qualification of new, alternate and/or localized suppliers for Business Unit Strategic commodities.

COMMUNICATION

· Communicate with team clearly - Be fully involved in a regular communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the team.

· Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.

· Develop effective relationships with Business Management/Sales to ensure that quote management is fully involved with new business opportunities.

· Develop relationships that allow the ability to influence the Customer, Suppliers, and key stakeholders within Jabil.

· Solicit ongoing performance feedback from individuals within Jabil that can help to quantify performance trends

· Demonstrate a commitment to achieve customer expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively. Make customer issues a priority.

DEVELOPMENT & LEADERSHIP

· Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. SCM metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).

· Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.

· Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.

· Assist with the creation and management of succession plans as requested.

· Solicit ongoing feedback from Business Unit Management, Commodity Management, Materials Management, peers and team members on team member’s contribution to the team. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team members based on feedback.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Minimum of five (5) years related experience, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business Development

· Proficiency in use of personal computers (email); Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

· Or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
