We are seeking a visionary and decisive Head of Uvalde Proving Grounds to lead our state-of-the-art testing facility located in Uvalde, Texas, United States. As the head of this critical operation, you will oversee all aspects of our proving grounds, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and innovation in vehicle and equipment testing.
Develop and implement strategic plans for the proving grounds, aligning with organizational goals and industry trends
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff to achieve operational excellence
Oversee the planning, execution, and analysis of complex test programs for various vehicles and equipment
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards
Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for multiple projects simultaneously
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product development, and quality assurance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies and facility capabilities
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to maintain strong relationships and secure new business opportunities
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry advancements to keep the facility at the forefront of testing capabilities
BASIC
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Automotive
10+ years related professional experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role at a proving ground or similar facility
Proven track record in project management, with the ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously
Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and mentoring
Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation
Comprehensive understanding of automotive industry testing procedures and vehicle performance evaluation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners
Willingness to relocate to Uvalde, Texas, and travel as required for the role (less than 10% of the time)
Internal qualified candidates will meet internal guidelines for this executive level role:
18+ months experience of leading people and/or projects
18+ months working internationally, cross functionally and/or cross organizationally
ACfEL must be complete before a promotion to SG 13
