GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Work-Aide (12 months – Part-time 50% Time)
The individual selected for the work-aide position must hold a high school diploma or an equal certification. Successful candidates must provide official transcripts documenting academic credentials required for the position as a condition of employment. The individual must assist and educate students and staff on the proper health and wellness techniques and promote the overall health and wellness of our campus. The individual must possess the skills to work with diverse constituents, including students, faculty, administration, and the general public. Available for flexible scheduling – after hours, weekends, and/or as needed by the Department.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalency. Some college credits or an Associate Degree are desirable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES , include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
Maintain a professional demeanor, perform basic functions in Word and Excel, have the ability to complete assigned tasks (with supervision), possess organizational and general office skills, and perform other duties as assigned.
Individual duties include answering the phones and taking messages, data entry, filing and sorting, mail run, and assisting other staff as needed.
Individual will assist with basic software questions, printing, login issues, and keeping printers stocked with paper. Student will also help maintain a quiet environment.
Individual will assist with general clerical duties such as organizing, filing, making copies of handouts, and other duties as assigned.
Number of hours an individual will work each week will depend on the type of job assignments and the employer’s workload, which will not exceed 20 hours weekly.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the employee is occasionally required to perform job responsibilities in the outdoors and off site.
