The Online Learning Program Coordinator will provide integral leadership, management, and coordination of online learning initiatives, projects, and programs that support just, equitable, and accessible educational opportunities for learners in Illinois, throughout the country, and across the globe. This role will work to expand the university\'s digital education offerings and create pathways for diverse learners to access higher education, particularly through partnerships with external mission-driven organizations, including K-12 institutions. The ideal candidate will foster student-centered programs that align with the university\'s mission, amplifying accessibility and opening new avenues to four-year degree programs.
OFFICE OF ONLINE LEARNING
The Illinois Office of Online Learning (OOL) is chartered with bringing together faculty, staff and students from across the university to develop the institution\'s capacity for mission-driven digital education. OOL serves as a centralized resource for digital education strategy; an infrastructure builder for online learning; an innovation collaborator for faculty and staff to devise new approaches to digital education; and an advisor on regulatory and compliance issues. It is a facilitator for the university-wide strategy to make higher education more accessible and equitable through new approaches to teaching and learning with technology. Duties & Responsibilities -
Project Coordination
- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of online learning projects in collaboration with Office of Online Learning leadership, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and other key institutional stakeholders. Establish clear expectations, manage and assign tasks, and proactively address challenges to maximize project effectiveness.
- Define project scope, strategies, outcomes, and success metrics, ensuring alignment with the university\'s online learning goals.
- Develop and document project processes and provide continual monitoring to ensure successful delivery. Support advisory groups, committees, and task forces that guide online learning initiatives. Proactively identify, develop, and deploy solutions to improve project operation effectiveness.
- Propose policies to support program objectives (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas).
- Utilizing knowledge of the institutional goals related to online learning and K-12 initiatives and scope of each project to assess risks, understand impact on outcomes, and adjust accordingly in a way that takes into consideration the variety of stakeholders impacted by these decisions.
- Manage the Learning Accelerator web presence, ensuring up-to-date and accessible content for all users.
Collaboration and Communication
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including K-12 institutions, to advance online learning initiatives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between UIUC and Illinois high schools, ensuring effective communication and coordination. This may include travel to various Illinois high schools.
- Communicate project goals, timelines, and progress through reports, presentations, and updates for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with leadership to define infrastructure needs and project scopes, adjusting expectations and plans as necessary.
- Maintain outreach-related content.
- Facilitation, negotiation, and maintenance of collaborative working relat onships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Engagement of campus leadership in the identification and definition of infrastructure needs and scope for project implementation.
- Calibration of expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes.
Program Development and Innovation
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for student-centered online learning programs, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all learners.
- Work closely with external partners to expand educational opportunities and develop new entry points to higher education, particularly for underrepresented groups.
- Oversee K-12 dual-credit course offerings, ensuring activities are within budget and aligned with strategic goals.
- Advise on current online teaching and learning pedagogy and universal learning design principles and support instructional design efforts, as needed.
- Lead efforts in educational innovation, identifying new opportunities for digital learning and expanding the university\'s reach.
Administrative Oversight
Supervise graduate student workers and provide leadership in managing online learning program logistics.
Prepare and deliver of annual reports, status reports, post-project reports and summaries, and tracking of milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely dissemination of this information to appropriate gra
