The Office of Graduate, Professional and Online Programsin The Grainger College of Engineering seeks applicants for an Office Support Associate position. This position assists the Assistant Director of Online Programs and Executive Director of Online and Professional Engineering Programs with organizing, coordinating, and performing information management services for the Office of Online and Professional Engineering Programs in The Grainger College of Engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Exam coordination and proctoring for credit courses

  • Facilitate the smooth flow of information and materials between students, faculty, proctors, departmental offices, and university contacts

{=html} <!-- --> - Coordinate and send exam download information to proctors - Receive and distribute completed exams

Videotaping Duties as assigned

  • Record/Monitor online courses as assigned

General information management

  • Answer inquiries and provide information about credit courses and programs
  • Maintain and update student records as needed
  • Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

1) 1) Hi gh school diploma or equivalent.

2) 2) Any one or combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the categories below:

A. College coursework in any curriculum as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent

  • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
  • Associate\'s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)

B. Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including the use of computer systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • K nowledge of information management as it relates to the modern office setting
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with accuracy and strong attention to detail, including using correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and tone. Excellent proofreading skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks delegated by supervisor and use sound judgment and discretion in prioritizing, initiating, and executing assignments.
  • Ability to adhere to all University, College, and Departmental policies consistently and competently, procedures, and guidelines .
  • Resourceful in data and information gathering.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to represent the unit in the highest professional manner when interacting with faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
  • Ability to work in a primarily sedentary environment.

APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

This is a full-time Civil Service Office Support Associate position appointed on a 12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. This is a bargained position and as such, the salary is driven by the collective bargaining agreement. The entry-level salary for the Office Support classification is \$36,901.80 (\$18.924/hour). Work authorization is not available for this position.
