Northrop Grumman Cybersecurity is seeking a qualified Cyber Systems Engineer to perform key assignments for Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Digital Environment (NGIDE). This position supports program execution with external partner access and collaboration with an emphasis on supporting model based systems engineering teams and engineering practices.

This position is not location specific and will offer a full-time telecommuting/work from home arrangement. This arrangement can change based upon business conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Cyber Security Engineering, researching and implementing new cyber security tools and applications, and improving currently used cyber security Infrastructure. Candidates will also review security compliance documentation, develop infrastructure support procedures, and providing technical security support. Duties also include supporting Information Systems Security Plans (ISSPs) and security compliance auditing and working with internal customers to ensure compliance is maintained. Selected candidate must also possess exceptional communication skills and be able to clearly articulate risks and risk mitigations to a wide range of audiences.

Excellent communication skills for effective internal and external interactions will be required in this role. Additionally, an analytical mindset will be needed to conduct detailed requirements analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team to design, build and maintain AWS and hybrid-cloud systems

  • Defining and improving cyber security processes for vulnerability remediation

  • Coordinating, tracking and remediating vulnerabilities reported by Tenable Scan Center

  • Developing secure solutions to novel security threats

  • Working in a team of distributed engineers to support Northrop Grumman Integrated Digital Environment (NGIDE) supporting program engineering execution

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in: Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related STEM field; 0 Years with Masters. Equivalent combination of education with experience may be accepted.

  • Experience in one or multiple of the following areas: networking, IT hardware, virtualization, cloud technologies, firewalls, and Linux systems.

  • Experience with tools similar to Tenable Security Center and Nessus

  • Experience creating and managing security documents and policies, including system ISSPs.

  • Developing secure solutions to novel security threats

  • Experience with cyber security practices

  • Ability to coordinate project work across distributed teams

  • Experience with security compliance frameworks, including: CMMC, NIST 800-171, or NIST 800-53

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software Assurance experience.

  • Expertise with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and related tools such as DOORS and Cameo

  • Knowledge of Cyber Security Engineering practices, network technologies, DoD system development life cycles and methodologies, and insight into information technology infrastructure management/monitoring and applications

  • Hands-on experience hardening and securing IT systems and services.

  • Experience managing cloud-based services and infrastructure (AWS).

  • Practical knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Current Security+, CASP or CISSP certification

  • Knowledge of or experience with penetration testing

Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
