JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Office of Technology Management within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking experienced applicants who are well-versed in technology transfer to fill two positions available as Technology Licensing Officer.
These positions will be located at the University Park Campus and will report to the Director of the Office of Technology Management, who is responsible for the management of intellectual property developed at Penn State.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include the following: Managing a substantial portfolio of intellectual property; screening invention disclosures and assessing their commercial potential Formulating patent strategies and coordinating with external patent counsel Marketing of inventions Negotiating and drafting intellectual property agreements Communicating and coordinating frequently with other stakeholders in the Invent Penn State community Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience: This position requires a Master's degree or higher in a technical or business discipline or higher and 6+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher-level jobs.
A strong technical background in an engineering discipline, business and/or technology licensing experience, and working knowledge of intellectual property protection strategies are desirable.
Candidates should have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, good negotiation skills, the ability to interpret and manage numerous complex agreements, the ability to manage and coordinate multiple and diverse projects simultaneously through to completion, be highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a team environment; and have the ability to establish priorities.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is: $86,300.00 - $145,700.00
