JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Sustainability is seeking a dedicated and passionate student to support the growth of the Sustainable Labs Program. This role is ideal for someone eager to be an integral part of a new and evolving initiative, advancing campus sustainability by engaging and educating labs and researchers. The intern will play a crucial role in the program's administration, including strategic planning and organization, as well as developing and implementing educational and professional resources for labs.

Responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to the following:

Provide administrative support for the Sustainable Labs Program.

Assist in the design and maintenance of the Sustainable Labs website, ensuring alignment with university standards.

Help facilitate channels of communication between the program leadership and labs, including the management of an active Microsoft Teams site.

Assist in documenting and reporting program outcomes and success stories.

Contribute to the development, planning, and execution of educational and professional programming for lab members.

Develop marketing and promotional materials to recruit labs and promote the program.

Conduct lab visits as a team to evaluate sustainability practices and offer recommendations for improvement.

Collaborate withother interns to enhance outcomes within the program.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled Penn State student with a GPA above 3.0.

Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.

Organized and capableof working independently.

Demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of, sustainability issues and topics.

Experience with educational program development is a plus.

Familiarity with graphic design platforms such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Additional Information:

This paid internship will start in September 2024 and continue through the 2024-2025 academic year for 6-10 hours a week. Additionally, Penn State Sustainability is interested in supporting students who are working their way through college, so applicants are encouraged to consider eligibility for Community Service Federal Work Study at Penn State.
