JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Workforce Education and Development WFED Learning and Performance Systems seeking applicants for a Student Community Engagement Coordinator.
Position Overview
As the Student Community Engagement Coordinator, you will play a vital role in building and nurturing a community of practice among Workforce Education and Development students at Penn State. This position focuses on creating connections, promoting professional development opportunities, and increasing program visibility across the university.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Representation and Promotion
Represent the WFED program at university promotional events and student recruitment activities
Create and implement strategic outreach initiatives to attract Penn State students to WFED courses
Develop engaging content for program promotion across various channels
Community Building and Engagement
Design and coordinate professional development initiatives for WFED students
Establish partnerships with student organization leaders across campus
Maintain regular communication with academic advisors to promote WFED course offerings
Build and maintain a network of student ambassadors
Program Support and Administration
Track engagement metrics and prepare regular reports on outreach activities
Manage event logistics and coordinate with various stakeholders
Maintain a database of contacts and resources
Qualifications
Required
Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study as part of financial aid package
Current Penn State student in good academic standing
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in event planning or program coordination
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Prior experience in student leadership or community engagement
Knowledge of workforce development principles
Experience with social media management
Public speaking experience
