JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Dr. Schreier’s Laboratory (https://sites.psu.edu/hannahschreier/) in the Department of Biobehavioral Health at Penn State seeks a candidate for a full-time Research Technologist position.

Research in the lab focuses on understanding the biological underpinnings of adverse experiences on youth and young adult chronic disease risk with an emphasis on functional immune outcomes. Responsibilities of the advertised position will include performing lab procedures, including whole blood cell cultures and ELISAs, and assisting with general laboratory maintenance.

All candidates must have strong communication skills, work well in a team, and work carefully, responsibly, and with great attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of one year of experience working within a clinical or research laboratory context is preferred; preference will be given to candidates with prior experience performing cell cultures and ELISAs.

Additional Information:

This is a 75% Reduced Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) (http://policy.psu.edu/policies/hr105) position. Work hours are 30 hours per week. This is a limited-term staff appointment, funded for one year from the date of hire, with an excellent possibility for renewal.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$34,800.00 - $50,500.00
