JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State University Park Airport is searching for a full time Line Service Agent to join their team. Duties include:

Open and close airport for business Maintain safety and security following airport procedures Initiate corrective action as required Meet and direct aircraft with proper taxi signals Assist customers in moving aircraft, mooring, towing, parking, providing auxiliary power, cleaning windshield, etc. as directed Provide services to aircraft such as baggage handling, aircraft cleaning, lavatory service, catering, air stairs, etc. Operate fuel farm, fuel-servicing vehicles and standing pumps to fuel aircrafts Ensure proper grounding and bonding Manage fuel distribution in aircraft using on-board computerized management systems or manual systems as required Mix additives with fuel as directed Check oil and add as necessary Operate Unicom system to relay current weather status, provide information regarding traffic and field conditions, identify runway in common use, etc. Record traffic counts on aircraft traffic log Communicate with airport traffic control tower and monitor New York Center as required Test AV-gas and jet fuel for contaminants as directed, following prescribed procedures Report issues to supervisor De-ice aircraft using de-icing truck and boom as required Operate de-icing fluid recovery system Clean assigned areas of buildings using methods and materials specified by the supervisor Operate various types of powered janitorial equipment, such as floor buffing machines, vacuum cleaners, etc. Cut, trim, fertilize, aerify, roll, seed, mow, and water lawns, fields and safety areas, etc.; plant, transplant, prune, weed, spray, and cultivate flowers, trees, shrubs, etc. Perform maintenance and repairs such as replacing filters, changing oil, adjusting or replacing drive belts, replacing worn or defective parts, etc. on vehicles and support equipment such as aircraft movers, fuel trucks, front-end loaders, snow removal equipment and de-icing trucks as needed Perform various airport office duties to include operating the reception desk and sales counter Prepare credit card or charge slips, receive cash and make change, etc., as required Operate and drive snow removal equipment to remove snow and ice or apply anti-skid material to walks, parking areas, ramps, aprons, taxiways, runways, etc. as required Test airfield pavement for braking action utilizing friction testing systems and report to pilots/airport traffic control tower as required Operate equipment and vehicles such as trucks, de-icing trucks, tractors, snow plows, loaders, lawn mowers, forklifts, power saws, pneumatic tools, de-icing fluid recovery system, etc. as required in the performance of assigned duties Report unsafe conditions to supervisor, airlines and other users Issue "Notices to Airmen" as required Act as safety observer for others working in aircraft operations area Load and unload shipments; inform supervisor of damaged or missing items; place shipment in designated area

Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring dia rams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. Over 1 year up to and including 3 years of effective experience

NOTE: POSITION REQUIRES UNESCORTED ACCESS AUTHORITY PRIVILEGES TO THE AIR OPERATIONS AREA AND THE SECURED AREA/SECURITY IDENTIFICATION DISPLAY AREA. APPLICANT IS REQUIRED TO UNDERGO A SECURITY THREAT ASSESSMENT (STA) AND A CHECK (CHRC) THAT DISCLOSES WHETHER THE APPLICANT HAS A DISQUALIFYING OFFENSE. NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS A PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. A VALID DRIVER`S LICENSE AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS.

This position is part of the bargaining unit represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 8 and has a starting hourly wage of $27.41.
