JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State University Budget Office is seeking a Budget Analyst to join our dynamicteamwhereyouradvancedanalyticalexpertisewilldriveimpactfuldecision-makingandsupportthefinancialhealthofPenn State. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget planning, analyses and reports.
The Budget Analyst will: Participate in budget activities offering suggested process and system improvements Participate in planning and implementation of the University's $6B annual operating budget, salary increase and planning processes, tuition income forecasting and other key financial management tasks Participate in preparation and development of financial analyses for university leadership, present data analyses with potential solutions and ensuring data consistency Lead the preparation of state-mandated reporting Participate in the development of support information for the Board of Trustees; to include PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, narratives etc. Work with finance professionals from various departments, colleges and campuses; including assistance with navigation of SIMBA (System for Integrated Management, Budgeting, and Accounting)accountingsystemandthe Anaplan budgetingsystem Participate in planning, design and implementation of new systems and software Serveoncommitteesandtaskforcesas needed
Required skills and experience: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to work independently and in a team setting Ability to prioritize/plan daily activities Integrity, professionalism, and exceptional organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to build strong working relationships across the University and externally Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality Detail-oriented and able to work in a changing and team environment Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel required
Minimally requires a Bachelor's degreeplus6years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or other analytical or business-related field is preferred. Experience with SAP Financials and SAP Budget and Planning for Public Sector is a plus.
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work depending on the time of year and the budget cycle. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $76,700.00 - $115,100.00
