JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Chemistry is seeking an experienced web developer to develop and maintain the general chemistry electronic textbook. The GenChem eBook is a highly interactive and customizable tool for the delivery of course content including simulations and animations of chemical and physical phenomena, videos, quizzes and other assessments. It also includes some course management utilities. It is currently used by about 4,000 students per year.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience developing custom Drupal modules and themes using the Drupal 7 API, including significant competency with PHP, MySQL, and Git version control. General web development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScripl/jQuery, Web standards and accessibility is also required. Moderate system administration and integration skills are also desirable, including familiarity with Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Apache, Vagrant and high-availability automated software deployment through testing, staging, and production environments.

This position requires a bachelor's degree or higher and 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of refunding.

This position has the potential to be performed fully remote or as a hybrid of remote and on-site work ing.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$76,700.00 - $115,100.00
