We are looking for a Specialist of Learning to drive and support the day-to-day Team Member experience for On-the-Job Training and other specific training needs of the Theme Park and City Walk. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of operational training within the hospitality industry. You’ll need to be innovative, agile, and always seek to push the boundaries of the status quo. However, you must also have a relentless focus on practical application that is grounded in the realities of what our Team Members face day-to-day.

At the core of this role, you will:

· Work with the Manager of Learning to develop and deliver “Best-In-Class” learning solutions that meet the needs of the business.

· This position supports the development of frontline, lead and supervisory training programs and initiatives for new hire onboarding and specific training needs.

· Partner with broader L&OD team programs (Talent Development, Organizational Development, etc.) to leverage their assistance, and input on learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in identifying learning needs through use of needs assessments, data analysis, and field research to support USH frontline learning solutions.

  • Designs and customizes program materials, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentations, and job aids.

  • Incorporates ongoing evaluation information into class materials on a continuous improvement cycle.

  • Researches and customizes new learning solutions, not limited to instructor-led, online learning, and on-the-job learning.

  • Ensures training materials are updated, relevant and support current Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Oversees the certified trainer development program (selection criteria, skill development/evaluation) for assigned client group(s).

  • Partners and supports client with special employee engagement and development initiatives.

  • Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of trainers responsible for delivering the OJT program as a means to drive quality and consistency of learning.

  • Facilitates other learning programs as assigned by Director or Manager.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Manager.

  • Flexibility with their schedule with availability to work on weekends, holidays, and nights as required by the Manager of Learning & Development

Basic Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in learning and training.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Hospitality, or related area.

  • End-to-end program management skills from needs assessment, design, development, and facilitation.

  • Advanced experience with Canva, Articulate, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with HR analytics and reporting, with introductory knowledge of visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) and other business-related data analysis strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with large groups of people while upholding guest service standards and maintaining composure.

  • Must be able to flex their schedule as needed to be available to work on weekends, holidays, and nights as required by the Manager of Learning & Development.

  • Must be able to work in a busy outdoor theme park environment as well as in an office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Hospitality, Theme Park, or Retail training.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong training and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated solid instructional design experience.

  • Proven experience building scalable, global onboarding programs for various audiences. (Team Members, managers, etc.)

Additional Requirements:

  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
