Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a strategic Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team, focusing on business partnership supporting one or more of Rocket’s functional organizations. The Senior Financial Analyst is a highly visible role which will serve as a key member of the FP&A Team.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing reporting and analysis on all aspects of the organization(s) they support, against forecasts and budgets. This role will be a critical business partner and instrumental in providing financial insights and guidance on strategic initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with functional ELT members and their senior leadership teams to understand their strategic objectives, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts for your assigned functional area(s) (eg. IT, Marketing, G&A), including annual budgeting, forecasting, long range planning and variance analysis.

  • Participate in monthly cadence/rhythm of the business – manage timelines and process for key FP&A activities including monthly forecasting, actuals reconciliation, monthly reporting packages, and annual budgeting.

  • Provide decision support through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and other analytical techniques to evaluate business initiatives and investments.

  • Lead beyond budgeting and planning – be a thought partner across departments to drive operational efficiencies and cost optimization while scaling the business.

  • Help drive innovation by actively seeking opportunities to simplify reporting and delivery methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness of finance activities through automation within the confines of available tools.

  • Monitor and analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators highlighting trends and analyzing causes of variances, including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, capital expenditures (CAPEX), ROI/ROE, as well as OKR’s.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business’ goals/objectives, to understand the root causes of variances and provide insightful, fact-based data analysis and scenario modeling to tell the story of the business.

  • Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and policies or guidelines are adhered to.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Finance and/or Accounting experience.

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of Financial Analysis experience.

  • Experience creating presentations for senior leadership and board of directors

  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to use pivot tables, complex formulas and perform modeling. Experience in Microsoft office suite of products.

  • Experience with ERP and financial planning tools (Planful, Adaptive, Essbase, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage to tight deadlines and prioritize workloads with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both strategically and at a detailed operational level.

  • Strong understanding of IT financial processes, including CAPEX, internal labor capitalization, and operational expense management.

  • Ability to provide executive-grade accurate financial data/information focused on driving business decisions.

  • Ability to quickly grasp new ideas and organize complex information; comfort with ambiguity.

  • Ability to explain concepts and processes to new team members.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leadership.

  • Ability to deliver information to senior management with minimal supervision.

  • Curious, self-starter who consistently takes the initiative to address questions and build new processes/structures.

The base salary range for this role is $93,276.00 - $116,595.50 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
