JBT Corporation Costing & Manufacturing Engineer in United Kingdom, United States

Overview ... We are looking for a Costing & Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Livingston! The Costing & Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for analysing and optimising manufacturing processes, estimating costs, and implementing cost reduction initiatives. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production, Project Management, Procurement and Supply Chain, to ensure efficient and cost-effective production operations. The Costing & Manufacturing Engineer will also play a key role in identifying opportunities for process improvement, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Opportunity ... The role of a Costing & Manufacturing Engineer: Conduct cost analysis to identify areas of cost improvement and recommend cost reduction initiatives. Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimise production processes and eliminate waste. Support Purchasing in identifying and evaluating suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing of materials and components. Monitor and analyse actual costs versus estimated costs to identify variances and take corrective actions as needed. Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient manufacturing processes. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and cost efficiency. What we're looking for in a Costing & Manufacturing Engineer... Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. 2-3 years of proven experience in manufacturing engineering and cost estimation, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills supporting the collaboration of cross-functional teams. Systems Knowledge (ERP background) High Level of Excel expertise with experience of CAD systems: Auto-Cad, Pro-E, Inventor, Solid Works etc. Why work at JBT ...
