Job Overview

The Customer Account & Sales Lead is responsible to establish the company's commercial strategy to help it grow and develop its business (new customers, partnerships, products, services, projects, ...) and to increase its sales turnover.

Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales:

  • Engage with target new accounts and lead the opportunity management process through to signed contract.

  • Continuously maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients, dealing with any queries as they

  • Engage C-level and mid-management executives in large and SME companies, make a compelling case and manage the sales cycle activities.

  • Implement best practices on pipeline, sales forecasting and opportunity management.

  • Track and report progress using the CRM system and associated tools.

  • Implement and use tools for lead generation.

  • Record accurate and timely information about deal progress, timelines and contract close dates.

  • Research the target industries for prospects that meet the company’s ideal customer profile. Initiate contacts and secure face-to-face appointments.

  • Attend external events in Belgium and abroad (ability to travel around 20%)

  • Managing the sales process from start to finish, including initial consultation, quotation, PO, …

  • Preparing ad hoc reports on client accounts for

  • Liaise with Cambrex Sales team as appropriate.

  • Liaise with Q1 Operations and Quality teams to align execution of studies sold.

  • Liaise with Q1 Finance team to align invoicing of studies sold.

    Facilities Management :

  • Be available in case of urgent interventions at the facility out of normal working hours (repairs, breakdowns, …)

Qualifications/Skills

General Office Administration :

  • Answering telephone calls and emails and dealing with problems in a timely manner

  • Maintain in a timely manner administrative records, including sales, invoicing, forecasting, equipment capacity, … reports

    Customer Care :

  • Business development: attach great importance to customer satisfaction

  • Develop and implement effective plans to achieve the company's objectives

  • Continuous review/improvement of processes and systems

  • Organize visits of the facility

    Backup role :

  • Act as backup of the General Manager

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in senior business development /account management roles, with a proven track record on technical/pharmaceutical B2B sales experience.

  • Bring an existing network of contacts within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • You will be able to demonstrate success in opportunity development and closing deals, including prospecting, C-level presentation and consultative selling.

  • You need to be experienced in making a business case to senior decision-makers who are responsible for their company’s innovation, revenue and growth.

  • Good computer literacy skills are essential including, the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM

  • French and English fluency is mandatory.

    Hours of Work

  • Monday – Friday (flexible hours allowed between 07:00-20:00)

  • There is some flexibility around these hours once all operations and opening hours are covered

  • Out of normal working hours are possible (weekend, evening, night, …)
