Curtiss-Wright Corporation Visual Quality Inspector in UK, United Kingdom

We are looking for a Visual Quality Inspector to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!

As Visual Quality Inspector for our Sensors facility you will inspect Hardware to both Visual Requirements, including the identification of Foreign Object Debris by use of borescopes, binoculars and digital camera. Visual inspection guidance by visual standards, checklists and experience and judgement. Working within a team of experienced Mechanical Inspectors, the role comes with an opportunity to learn and develop within Curtiss-Wright.

Visual inspection experience preferred, but not required as training will be given.

Your Challenge

  • Visual inspection of Aerospace products to a high expected standard, ensuring critical items are free from Foreign Object Debris (FOd)

  • Inspection and verification of Production and Test documentation to the requirements of ISO9001/AS9100.

  • Report findings back to the production lines, working with the assembly teams to rectify problems

  • Record and document findings for identification of reoccurring problems and trends

  • Working with the Quality Assurance team on quality projects aimed at the elimination of internal and external quality escapes

  • Carries out packaging line, manufacturing inspections and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials to ensure that company standards are met.

  • Monitors critical equipment and instrumentation. Use tools effectively to assure consistency in a minimal inspection time.

  • Assist with drafting inspection procedures and validate or troubleshoot testing methods, including assays.

  • To identify non-compliance issues and resolve in an effective way, internally or externally as needed.

  • To develop skills, use understanding of the inspection equipment used

  • To ensure adherence to the company QMS procedures and work practices and to proactively identify anomalies, errors and opportunity for development

  • Working within a team supporting the organization fully in all material handling and other reasonable requests.

  • Contribute to plans to develop the dept. in a continuous improvement culture.

  • To assist in internal and external audits of the department as needed.

  • To contribute fully and be an active part of a small proactive team.

What You Bring

  • The ability to follow Visual Inspection specifications and use initiative to identify and improve

  • Be able to read and interpret drawings

Preferred

  • Visual inspection experience preferred, but not required as full training will be given

  • Microsoft Office experience preferred
