Overview
The role of a Senior Sprinkler Technician represents the highest level of technical expertise and leadership in the field of fire sprinkler system service and testing. Sprinkler Technician 4 holds a senior position within the team, responsible for leading complex projects, providing strategic guidance, and mentoring junior technicians. The role involves overseeing critical system inspections, resolving intricate technical challenges, and ensuring the superior performance and compliance of sprinkler systems.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of sprinkler system servicing, including advanced inspections, complex troubleshooting, and in-depth repairs.
Plan and perform inspections and testing of fire alarm, special hazard systems, kitchen hoods and preaction systems.
Provide expert-level diagnostics and solutions for challenging technical issues in sprinkler and preaction systems to maintain optimal functionality.
Oversee and conduct testing of all types of fire suppression systems
Develop and implement advanced maintenance strategies, system upgrades, and enhancement plans to optimize system performance.
Mentor and guide junior technicians, imparting knowledge, skills, and best practices for effective service delivery.
Develop training plans and conduct trainings of different aspects of fire alarm systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and oversee large-scale projects involving fire alarm systems.
Conduct thorough system assessments, analyze performance data, and recommend system enhancements for maximum efficiency.
Stay abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
Emphasize safety, quality service delivery, and customer satisfaction in all service activities, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and professionalism.
Serve is subject matter expert and provide remote assistance to other team members for all ascpects ofsprinkler system servicing.
Serve as quality control authority for assessing work of other team members
Lead and manage sprinkler system survey to identify system condition, comlience with NFPA Codes and another applicable codes and regulations, analyse coverage, functionality, provide assessment and recommendation for system perfromance improviment and life prolongation
Prepare, review and assess various documentations in regards to sprinkler system installation, service and maintenance, including but not limited to installation plan, commissioning plan, testing plan, methods of procedure, schedule etc.
Be on rotation to respond to afterhours service calls as scheduled by supervisor
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma (required)
10 years of relevant experience or
2 years technology degree and 8 years of relevant experience
Certifications:
NICET III in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems or
Pass NICET III in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systemsexam within 90 days of employment
State Backflow Certification
Fire Pump Test Certification
Tools / Software Applications:
MS Office Suite of products
SharePoint
Experience any Computerized Maintenance Management System
Requirements:
Ability to obtain US Secret Clearance.

Knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 13, NEC, Fire Sprinkler System Theory, OSHA Requirements and Industry Standards for Fire sprinkler systems installation

Abilities:
Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
