Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer works as a member of the Systems Engineering team to develop, implement, and refine model based systems engineering practices and tools into the Residential HVAC business for non-software focused aspects of equipment

Where is the work:

  • This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. Location: Tyler, Texas

What you will do:

  • Drive clear requirements and the requirement gathering process, partnering with Product Management and Platform Engineering teams

  • Work with IT, Product Groups, and Controls to implement a requirements software that all of RES can use for the requirements process

  • Drive culture and adoption of model based systems engineering throughout organization

  • Identify gap areas and opportunities where model based systems engineering can aid the organization

  • Create and refine system architecture models along with standard work for the creation and maintenance of them

  • Work collaboratively across platform engineering teams using MBSE principles to brainstorm & identify optimal design solutions (cost, timing & quality)

  • Lead brainstorming exercises to help the product teams select optimal executions of new technologies

  • Work with the Systems Engineering Leader and Director to establish product design guidelines for Res HVAC Product Modular Architecture with Platform Engineering teams.

  • Assist the Systems Engineering Leader and Director in developing the Systems Engineering Standard Work Process

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Software Engineering

  • 3 to 8 years of experience in Systems Engineering

  • The ideal candidate will have significant experience with model based systems design and the implementation of it in an organization

  • Demonstrated experience in system architecture model development

  • Experience using Catia Magic Cyber Systems Engineer is preferred

  • Experience developing and managing requirements for products

  • Intellectual curiosity for performing analysis and solving problems

  • Results-oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Works effectively in an open consensus-oriented team environment

  • Conflict management skills

  • Experience with Polarian requirements software is a plus

  • INCOSE and/or SysML certifications are a plus

  • Refrigeration Design Experience is also a plus

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $75,000-120,000

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
