We are inviting applications for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in the Construction industry, in TUSCALOOSA, Alabama. The role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and will involve maintaining and processing various accounting tasks, vendor communication, and customer service duties.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain customer credit records.

• Manage Accounts Payable, including weekly and monthly payments.

• Maintain regular communication with vendors.

• Assist in tracking permits and electrical accounting plans via strategic and detailed spreadsheet management.

• Perform data entry tasks and order materials as required.

• Handle filing and other administrative duties.

• Act as a backup receptionist, managing incoming calls and taking payments over the phone when necessary.

• Utilize software like QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel for various tasks.

• Provide excellent customer service by resolving customer inquiries and monitoring customer accounts.

• Assist with payroll management as needed.

Requirements • Candidate must possess skills in Account Reconciliation

• Knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) are required

• Experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary

• Proficiency in Billing tasks is needed

• Candidate must be adept at Data Entry

• Must have experience in Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Familiarity and experience in QuickBooks are necessary

• Experience in handling Payroll is required

• Must possess strong Customer Service skills

• Experience in the Construction/Contractor industry is a plus

• An Accounting Clerk certification or similar qualification is preferred.
