CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.

Responsibilities
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Works under the direction of the Activity Director. The activity aide/assistant provides support for the Activities Department in the Swing Bed Unit. Follow policy and procedures and the Mission and Philosophy of Community Memorial Hospital.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively assist in providing an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the individual interests and physical, mental, psycho social well being of each resident. Adapts activities according to each resident’s needs, handicaps and capabilities.
Completes Daily Activity Record documentation accurately and relays any pertinent department information in Activities Communication Book by the end of each shift. Reports significant changes in attendance/participation to activity coordinator.
Offers daily 1:1 visits as required by individual care plans and according to each resident’s personal needs. Implements activity program as assigned and care planned using a positive approach to encourage activity participation. Follows planned activities listed on Monthly Activity Calendar and helps to update as needed.
Effectively carries out the principles for quality human relations by maintaining a good rapport and cooperative working relationships. Exhibits friendly and helpful behavior by anticipating and responding to the needs of all residents.
Respects the privacy of all residents and the confidentiality of any information divulged in their presence.
Demonstrates flexibility and initiative on the job. Performs additional tasks as assigned by activity coordinator.
Participates in continuing education and department/ hospital activities. Sets goals for self in order to demonstrate leadership and professionalism.
Qualifications
Education: A high school diploma or GED is desirable.
Experience: Previous experience in an activity department, or at least in a nursing facility, is desirable.
Pay Range
$15.00 - $19.82 /hour
